WET & RECKLESS GO TO THE MOVIES

Before she played bass guitar in Wet & Reckless, Tucson's own Jessica Gelt was in another Los Angeles post-punk / new-wave band called The Movies.  Now part-time television producer, not to mention staff writer at the Los Angeles Times, Gelt has partnered with Maker.tv, fashion brand NYLON, and writers Brian Canning (Irving, Afternoons) and Christian Casucci, to put together a 10-episode web series called Oh, You Pretty Things!, loosely based on the travails of The Movies.

Maker Studios has release a soundtrack for the web series that you can purchase from iTunes here, which includes two brand new tracks from Wet & Reckless - "Confetti" and "Bad Blood."

La Cerca's test pressing has arrived from Rainbo Records!  That means pretty soon it is going to be spinning on your turntable, and you are going to be dancing along to songs like "Arizon" and "Sorry XO!"  Sunrise for Everyone... coming soon to a record store near you!

CARRBORO NC, WE'RE COMING FOR YOU

This coming Sunday, April 6th, Fort Lowell Records will be participating in the Spring Carrboro CD & Record Show in North Carolina, hosted by Musical Roots Productions. The official times of the show are 12:00-6:00pm, but we plan to be there at 10:00am to begin setting up, and you are more than welcomed to come by early and say "Hi!," especially since admission is FR-FR-FREE!!!  The record show will be held at The Century Center in the heart of Carrboro, NC (across from Weaver Street Market).

We will have our entire Fort Lowell Records catalog with us... Young Mothers (yes, we have a few left without covers), ...music video?, Wet & Reckless + Tracy Shedd, Dead Western Plains, Death Kit, Howe Gelb (got some of those as well without covers), Luz De Vida (yup, we save one box just for this event), Andrew Collberg, Saint Maybe, and fairweatherfriend! Our table will be set up in the front entrance room, and we will have a complete listening station so you can check out all of our records!  7inches will be priced at $5.00 and 12inches at $10.00!

Normally we would be pretty excited to share with you that one of our artists were heading out on the road to share with you their music.  But this time, we have the pleasure of sharing with you that TWO of our artists are heading out together...

Tracy Shedd and Howe Gelb are hitting up east coast cities this January!  Both Shedd and Gelb will be supporting their own new record releases: Shedd's Arizona (New Granada Records), and Gelb's The Coincidentalist (New West Records).  Howe Gelb recently collaborated with Tracy Shedd in the studio, recording their own rendition of Sonic Youth's classic "Teenage Riot," which was released on Shedd's album, Arizona.  Let's hope Gelb joins Shedd on stage at these shows!
