FAREWELL ...MUSIC VIDEO? :(

I will never forget the day we decided to launch Fort Lowell Records in Tucson, Arizona.  There was never a question as to who we would release for our first few records.  I personally did not know the boys with ...music video?, so I had to schedule an official meeting with them to discuss releasing a record for them.  I had heard their music over the airwaves on KXCI, as well as streamed on the World Wide Web, and was a huge fan simply from that exposure, but I had never even seen them play live before!

Paul, Wes, and Justin met me at the local night club, Plush, in their front lounge.  I felt like I had known the three of them for years; they were all simply the nicest guys.  Fort Lowell Records had not yet released a record, so I remember having to explain my vision for what the label would become.  They were very open and trusting of what I wanted to do for their release, and I truly appreciated their partnership and support with their project.

I am very proud to have had the opportunity to work with ...music video?, and I am extremely happy to look back at FLR002 and listen to those sweet tunes Paul, Wes, and Justin created!  Thank you gentlemen for an amazing record!

Fort Lowell Records is now partnering with The Vinyl Scout to host our 2013 Celebration!  We will be at Borderlands Brewing Co. on Friday, May 17 from 4-7pm with ...music video? and Tracy Shedd doing DJ Sets of some of their favorite music, followed by fairweatherfriend's acoustic debut and the Fort Lowell Records Happy Hour from 6-7pm with two-for-one 7inch and 12inch records on sale!  Then, join us down the street at Solar Culture starting at 8pm for a full Fort Lowell Records Showcase, featuring rock-n-roll performances by La Cerca, fairweatherfriend, and Saint Maybe, as well as intimate performances by Andrew Collberg and Tracy Shedd!  The Vinyl Scout will be out in full-effect promoting their website and our love for wax!  It is going to be an awesome night altogether celebrating Tucson musicians and vinyl records; don't miss it!

GINGER + KEVIN ARE OKAY

We are happy to report that Ginger Unwin, who was running in the Boston Marathon yesterday, along with her husband, Kevin Unwin, lead singer and guitarist for fairweatherfriend and who was there on the sidelines supporting her, are both doing just fine and were not harmed by the tragedy on Monday. Our heart goes out to those affected by the horrific events that took place in Boston. We wish Mr. & Mrs. Unwin and safe and joyous visit in the beautiful state of Massachusetts and amazing city of Boston for the remainder of their stay, as well as a safe journey home to the desert later this week.
